Living mindfully - it takes practice!

Morning, blogger friends!

Each morning on my Facebook page - www.facebook.com/justmosaics.co.uk- I am now posting a photo I have taken that morning of something lovely - a flower, a scene, a bird - just something that catches my eye and makes me appreciate life - see below.

It follows on from a lot of thinking I have been doing about living mindfully - moment by moment.  We all know we should in this busy world, but it's hard sometimes, isn't it?

What I didn't realise is that in order for you to get better at it (or be able to do it at all), you have to PRACTICE it!  This was a eureka moment for me - practice helps you improve, and make it a part of your everyday life.

So, I needed a plan, and found these exercises very useful - http://ptsd.about.com/od/mindfulness/tp/Mindfulness-Exercises-For-Connecting-With-Your-External-Environment.htm - do have a look.

Everyone's life is so different, but hopefully we can all 'pay attention on purpose' to something, anything - deliberately taking a moment, putting other thoughts aside. It can be as simple as listening to your breath.

So one of my moments in the day is to post a photo of something lovely first thing in the morning, deliberately taking the time to take it , so that whatever else happens in the day, it has started by paying attention to something lovely on purpose.

It would be great if you could take a moment and join me.
